But First, Coffee with the New Prodigio from Nespresso
I’m sure by now you have noticed on both my blog and my Instagram that I have a serious love for Nespresso and their deliciously flavoured capsules as well as their chic and innovative machines. That’s why I’m super excited to share that I have joined their Coffee Connoisseur Club which means I will be sharing exclusive content and reviews about products that are coming out this year. That means you Girls of T.O readers get a sneak peek on all things Nespresso this year from yours truly!
As much as I want to just make this blog post about my excitement, I just had to share their latest innovation that has me loving coffee even more – if that was even possible! Nespresso has taken our love for coffee one step further and considered our busy schedules and lives that they have now introduced the Prodigio machine which can be controlled by an app. Yes! There is officially ‘an app for that’!
As one of their Coffee Connoisseur’s, I took the new machine for a joy ride and was happy to see how convenient it was to set up, use and brew my first coffee using an app!
I’m sure just like some of you, I wondered what exactly the app would be able to do to really make the new machine so convenient, but the app – available for both Android and iOS, features a few notifications just for the Prodigio specifically. The notifications include letting you know when the water tank is empty as well as when the tank needs descaling, and when you’re low on capsules which is when the app also comes in handy because you can order more capsules straight from your phone! I named my machine ‘Budgie’ which is an inside joke between me and my boyfriend, but I do like that feature of giving your new best friend (the Prodigio) a name!
The convenience of the machine is just amazing. Although I generally work from home, I am always on the go and when I’m off to a meeting downtown or need to start earlier in the morning and need a quick cup of Nespresso before I leave, I can now set up the brew time the night before so I can enjoy my cup of coffee at the perfect time. My tip is to place a capsule in the machine and a cup underneath soon after you brew your current cup so that if you ever need to time a brew, everything is set up already!
The machine also features 3 sizes for ideal brewing – Ristretto, Espresso, and Lungo and Nespresso also carries a milk frother so I get to enjoy a cappuccino when possible! As I mentioned, the app is handy to send you notifications, so when you know you are low on water or is your machine needs a cleaning, it’s done easily and with no fuss at all!
The new Prodigio machine is the future of coffee brewing and I am beyond happy to be sharing the latest releases from Nespresso, so be sure to stay tuned for more exciting posts, videos and recipes! Don’t forget to follow Nespresso on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and follow along with #NespressoMoments and let’s talk coffee!
The Prodigio is available in silver and titan and costs $249 ($299 with the milk frother). It’s available through select retailers and the company’s own website. Both models include a “welcome kit” that contains an assortment of 16 Nespresso Grands Crus capsules.
