My Vintage Ink
Now that the crisp fall air has arrived, all I want to do is cozy up at home with friends or the boyfriend, watch great movies and really just kick back and relax – it’s basically become my favourite pastime as of late. Typically, if doing that doesn’t involve a hot cup of ‘somethin’, then wine is most definitely included in the cozy festivities.
Now, I would never consider myself a Wine Connoisseur, but I definitely know what I like, and when I find a wine I like, it’s typically on repeat until the next, like my latest obsession, Vintage Ink. I was recently introduced to the brand this past summer, and aside from the fact that it is so delicious, what initially caught my eye was the stylish and eye-catching wine label.
Am I the only one drawn to wines when the labels are intriguing? Yeah, I knew I wasn’t!
What some may not realize when noticing the Vintage Ink Wine bottle, is that the customized ship-in-a-bottle tattoo look was designed by Tattoo artist, Spencer Harrington and his client and friend, Crispin Day. The illustration designed by Harrington won him the We Are Made of Stories Vintage Ink contest last year. The concept of the contest was to search for a unique and remarkable piece of art to adorn 6,000 Limited Edition Vintage Ink Merlot Cabernet bottle labels.
Needless to say, they found it!
As someone with a tattoo (and looking to possibly get some more) I could’t believe the talent of Spencer Harrington and this unique look for Vintage Ink. And the taste was perfect as well! Within just a few sips of the Merlot Cabernet I caught on to the plum and dark berry aromas, with juicy flavours of plum, cherry and blackberry – my kind of wine.
If you’re looking for your next Merlot Cabernet, I urge you to pick up a bottle of Vintage Ink and create genuine, memory filled experiences which is what the brand is all about!
The Limited Edition Vintage Ink Merlot Cabernet is available at the LCBO for $17.95. For more information, visit www.Vintageinkwines.ca.
